Access Management

I want to connect (or reconnect) to a company inside MX. +

If you’ve lost access, it may be from inactivity or an incorrect email address. Check with the person who created your account. To reconnect, contact the company managing your MX access. They can reapply or confirm your details. For step-by-step help, visit this page.

Account Management

How do I upgrade my account? +

Moving to a paid account gives you more control. You’ll be able to add or remove users in your MX environment independently of your customers. Get started here.

Data Management

How long is data stored? +

Data stays available until it reaches the set expiry date or until the maximum number of downloads has been used.

Can I extend the life of a transaction? +

Yes, your administrator can adjust settings by extending the expiry date or adding more downloads, keeping flexibility while maintaining control.

What about transaction history? +

Uploaded files are deleted after their storage window ends, but a full history of what was sent, who received it, and whether it was downloaded is always kept.

User Management

Can I use our account to work with other companies? +

Yes. Your administrator can add both colleagues and external partners, making cross-company collaboration simple.

One of my customers already uses MX. How does that affect me? +

Your MX access is tied to your email. That means you can connect with multiple MX customers without juggling separate accounts.

How easy is it to add new users? +

Very easy. All that’s needed is the new user’s email and company name. They’ll get an invitation email to finish setup.

How many admins can we have on an account? +

There’s no limit. You can assign admins internally or allow external partners to manage their side—it’s your choice.

Notifications

Do users get automatic email alerts? +

Yes. Both senders and recipients receive email updates when files are uploaded, downloaded or close to expiring.

Security

Can external users see each other? +

No. Only the paying customer can view all users. Recipients cannot see each other when files are sent to multiple contacts.

What if I’m not sending engineering data? +

MX is optimized for large file sharing and strict audit trails, but it works just as well for any data that requires controlled access and a reliable history.

Installation and Maintenance

Do you need to come on-site to install MX? +

No. MX runs entirely in a browser and needs no installation. Updates and fixes are handled automatically online, so your service never stops.
